Mad Dog Scramble 2010
Mad Dog Scramble Wrap Up

Congratulations to all 2010 Mad Dog racers. Yes that includes all Wild, Crazy and Insane runners. You have made this year’s run the largest Mad Dog Scramble ever. Early sign ups allowed easier registration and seeding. And from the comments I got the course was a great one. Thanks to Nick, Bill, and Zelko for laying it out and marking it.

On our website a full list of volunteers is set out illustrating how many dedicated people it takes to make a race like this the success it is.

Thanks also to those who brought out the youngsters to run in the Puppy Scramble. Thanks are owed to Elaine for organizing that little run for future Mad Dog runners.

And, special thanks to our various sponsors who supplied items for gift and draw prizes. Royal Bank, Mizuno, Falcon Lumber, Pepsi, Road Warriors, Helly Hanson as well as the sponsoring running club, XSNRG. The draw prizes these generous sponsors provide make an already great race that much more memorable.

Results are now posted on the Mad Dog page of the www.xsnrg.org website. The first batch of photos are also online. More photos will be posted as they become available. If you have any you'd like to see on our site send them to Ed Wong at wonge@rogers.com.

Thanks again for your participation. See you all next year.

Mad Dog Scramble Welcome

The Mad Dog Scramble is back again. Sunday October 31, 2010 is the day to come out and enjoy yourself at this annual fun romp on park trails of the Don River. As always, space will be limited. Runners of all abilities are encouraged to run this challenging urban trail race as anyone can win. Runners are sent out on the course with a head start on the faster runners.

First, second and fourth people back win prizes. As usual, there will also be draw prizes and food after the race.

This year we will start from the same location as last year just north of Sunnybrook Park at Park Lane Public School in the heart of the Bridle Path!

Arf Arf Arf. Who let the dogs out?

XSNRG is a running club that provides runners of all levels weekly coached interval training to develop strength, stamina, and speed, in a supportive and social environment. From beginners to accomplished competitive runners, no one is too slow or too fast to run with XSNRG – all you need is the desire to train and improve your running!

Structured workouts will help you improve, but they are not always easy to do on your own. Our Tuesday night workouts, led by coaches, make it easy, give you company, and help keep you motivated with your running.

The club meets in the Leaside area every Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. and runs to a different workout location each week, focusing either on speed intervals or hill training. A typical workout includes a warm-up, cool-down, coaching tips on technique and the workout, and is usually finished by 8:00 p.m.

Meeting Locations:

  • May through September: Sunnybrook Park in the Sports Pavilion parking lot on the upper fields
  • October through April: Leaside High School

Join us for our Tuesday Night Workouts … you’ll have fun and improve your running – all because of XSNRG’s workouts!
